Processing data from the injection-molding process

Bayer Mold Control is a processing system for process data that has been specially developed for the needs of injection-molding technology. It enables quality assurance in production by monitoring the data relevant to quality.

The following are assessed

  • the mold filling phase, by calculating the injection pressure,
  • the cooling phase, by determining the setting behavior,
  • the plasticating phase, by determining the platificating capacity.
The actual values for the mold and mass temperature determine the corresponding process conditions. All the data relevant to quality relating to the molding process are available for statistical analysis at the end of each injection-molding cycle. This takes place automatically at the end of a production run or after a stipulated number of shots.

data relevant to quality on a display on
the injection-molding machine itself.
This means that for test specimen production to ISO 294, compliance with the required process tolerances can be documented, for example for the mold and melt temperature of +/-3 ºC.

At the same time the Bayer Mold Control System (BMCS) provides information that is exceptionally relevant to practical application about the specific flow and setting behavior of the material used.

For example, the
influence of material drying on the mold-filling properties during injection molding is measurable online by measurement of the injection pressure.

Our experience with the Bayer Mold Control System (BMCS) in the Thermoplastics Testing Center in Uerdingen has guaranteed for many years, its reliability, something which in-house customers are also able to profit from.
