Shear test
In this test, the compressive force of a steel prop with a defined diameter shears a clamped sheet. Shear stress and shear deformation are recorded in a diagram until complete separation of the material, and from this the corresponding shear strength is determined. This test is performed for a comparative material assessment and/or to provide evidence of a minimum shear strength after thermal aging (UL 746B).

Result of the test method:

  • Shear strength [MPa]
  • Complete stress-deformation diagram with all measuring channels
